World’s Fastest Texter Competition

Challenge:

Conduct a complex competition that is fast paced, involves multiple technologies and is simultaneously translated into 5 different languages.

BKA Solution:

Omni Partners and LG turned to BKA to design and produce the first ever LG Mobile Worldcup. The competition set out to find the fastest and most accurate texter in the World. Twenty-six finalists from 13 countries including Russia, Indonesia, Mexico, USA, Canada, Portugal, Brazil, South Africa, Argentina, Korea, Spain, Australia, and New Zealand competed to prove their mobile texting skills based on speed and accuracy. 

BKA created and scripted a customized game show for the competition. We designed a two-tiered half round stage that held contestant podiums and the MCs. The tiers were used so contestants’ heads were below the screens and offset enough so the live audience could view the LCD panels on the front of the podiums (which were updated with individual and team scores.) 

Team Korea took home the $100,000 prize, followed by Team USA in 2nd place and Team Argentina in 3rd. Pedro Matias, from Portugal broke the Guinness World Record for fastest text-- 264 characters in 1 min 59 seconds.
